The Mallorca Island Tour

tour mapWe’re excited to be able to offer a new kind of holiday: instead of staying in a single base and riding “clover-leaf” from that base, this holiday tours the island. You stay in a different hotel each night, with your bags carried on to the next hotel in our support vehicle so that you can cycle light.

Our tour is a 5-day, 4-night trip, travelling anti-clockwise around the island, getting more mountainous as the days progress.

Here’s an itinerary:
Day 1: Arrive pm, collected from airport and taken to Sant Jordi; a little time to get used to hire bikes before dinner.

Day 2: breakfast in hotel, then ride 100km from Sant Jordi to Porto Cristo: flat except for the climb of Puig Randa 555m
Suggestions for stops en-route: coffee stop in either Llucmajor or Randa; lunch either at Montuiri or Sineu; visit the Sineu outdoor velodrome for a quick lap
afternoon stop in Petra, with their Rapha shop
Arrive Porto Cristo for the 2nd night’s stay

Day 3: breakfast in hotel, then ride 105km Porto Cristo to Alaro, flat / rolling day, with the option of adding 12km to the route with the climb to the Betlem Monastery (370m).
Suggestions for stops en-route: coffee stop in either Arta or Petra; lunch either at Maria, Muro or Campanet; afternoon stop at Selva or Biniamar
Arrive in Alaro for 3rd night’s stay

Day 4: Mountain challenge day! Breakfast in hotel, then ride 95km from Alaro to Palma Nova: a hilly day with two medium passes (Col D’Honor 560m, through the village of Orient; and the Coll de Soller 510m), and four smaller passes (but with only partial descents between — Can Costa 430m, Col D’en Claret 499m, Coll des Grau 469, Galilea 410m).
Suggestions for stops en-route: coffee stop in either Orient or Bunyola; lunch either at Soller or Deia (both amazing places); afternoon stop in Puigpunjent or Calvia.
Arrive in Palma Nova for the 4th Night’s stay.

Day 5: relax in Palma Nova til airport transfer and departure.

The price for this trip is £680 per person for 4 nights, based on 2 sharing and half-board accomodation. We can, of course tailor a tour for you; for example, some might want another day in the mountains—going up past Puig Major and doing the road to Sa Calobra, perhaps staying an extra day in Alaro to do this. It’s all possible, and we’ll make it happen, so enquire!
